What is The Postmates Card and How To Use It?

Postmates is our favorite delivery job. You do not need special gear to earn money delivering with the Fleet. However, some Postmates orders require that the driver pays for the order at the restaurant/merchant. The money will not come from your wallet and the card covers the cost of merchandise with a pre-approved amount for each selected order.

You do not have to worry about how to get it. The Postmates Card is sent to Drivers by the San Francisco based food delivery service once you apply for a delivery driver job with the welcome kit so that these orders can be paid for by Postmates.

These cards arrive in the mail and are activated by the driver directly in the driver account.

How do I activate my Postmates Card?

Linking your credit card to your account is an important step. Indeed Postmates will not start the background check process until your card is not activated.

You can activate your Postmates PEX card directly from your Fleet app or your driver account from any browser. For both methods you need a WI-FI connection.

1. Activate the card with the Fleet App

How Does Postmates Prepaid Card Work? [INFOGRAPHIC]

The card works very similar to the Uber Plus Card. To make it clear, here is a breakdown of how it works:

The customer passes and pays an order through the Postmates app with their payment method.
Once you accepted the delivery request Postmates will charge the card with the amount you need to pay the order
You drive to the pick up location and pay the merchant with the card.
You pick up and drop off the order to the customer and earn money that you can cash out to your personal debit card via the instant payment feature.

What Can I do if my Postmates Card was Declined?

Is Postmates down? What to do if the card doesn’t work? If your Card declines, we suggest you wait 3-5 minutes and then ask the cashier to try again. The system automatically notifies Postmates when the Card declines and Postmates then fixes the issue.

If you have still problems using the card follow these troubleshooting steps:

Sign out of your driver account
Uninstall your Fleet app from your phone
Reinstall the app
Complete your Postmates login
Try again to pay the order with the card
Check if Postmates is down with DownDetector

Remember that while you are in an active delivery, you can always get help and contact Postmates Fleet support directly from the app.

Can I Use my Postmates Card for gas?

The most common questions we receive about the card at Bestreferraldriver are: Can I use the card for myself? Or Can I use the card for gas? You cannot pay with the card for personal use.

You can only use the Postmates credit card to pay for a Postmates customer order at the correct time and at the correct restaurant/merchant. The card will only charge the pre-approved amount of money due to the merchant.

💡 Pro Tips for Using the Card Correctly

You always need to have at least one other backup card. We suggest you to order another replacement card directly from the fleet app right now. You will not pay a dollar.
Only use the card to pay when prompted by the Fleet app: the app may say “Pay for order”.
The card is not a debit card but a credit card. So, always choose credit as a payment method. The card doesn’t come with a PIN.
Do not add tip when paying with the card, and you don’t need to keep receipts unless the order requests you keep the receipt. Please do not give your Postmates card receipts to the customer.

Unfortunately, while the customers can easily track their order, there is no way you can track the parcel with the Postmates Fleet Card.

Will my earnings be deposited in the Fleet Postmates card?

Your earnings will not be deposited on the fleet Card that is not linked to your bank account.

Can I do Postmates without the Prepaid Card?

One of the common questions we receive at Bestreferraldriver is: I lost my postmates card can i still work? Yes! Just don't accept deliveries from restaurants/merchants where you have to use it and accept the orders already prepaid.

Keep in mind that Postmates do not have a rating system with an acceptance rate. However, if you cancel too many orders because you do not have the card, Postmates won't let you back online! Keep in mind that you should never pay for any Postmates order that you have accepted for delivery with any form of payment other than the Postmates courier card.

How can I Get a Reimbursement for Postmates Card Failure?

If you lost your card, the merchant didn't accept the Postmates Card but only cash, Postmates will reimburse you for paying for an order with cash or using your personal card. Here are some important things to know to get reimbursed for this.

You can request reimbursement only within 48 hours of a delivery
To request a reimbursement fill up the form of the Fleet support
Always take a picture of the receipt
Postmates drivers are allowed a one-time use of personal funds.
